Everything you need to know

We know that introducing new technology to a charity requires trust. Here are the answers to the questions we get asked most by trustees, finance leads, and volunteers.

Getting Started

Simple setup, no hardware, and how it fits into your Sunday service.

No hardware at all. Unlike other systems, DonationPay uses unique QR codes. You simply print them on venues, bulletins, or posters. Supporters use their own smartphones to give, so you never have to worry about charging batteries, signal issues, or broken equipment.

You can be ready to collect donations in less than 15 minutes. Once you register and connect your charity bank account via Stripe, your unique QR codes are generated instantly.

Money & Gift Aid

Transparency, fees, and how we boost your charity income.

Absolutely. Our system captures the donor’s full name, home address, and declaration status as required by HMRC. Your Treasurer can download a formatted report that contains everything needed to make a claim, including the 25% boost.

Funds are processed through Stripe Connect and are typically transferred to your charity bank account on a 7-day rolling basis (or according to your chosen payout schedule). We never hold your funds.

Yes. DonationPay currently supports both English and Polish. This is a unique feature designed to help diverse communities feel welcome and confident when supporting their local charity.

For Supporters

Ease of use for everyone in the venue, from students to seniors.

No. DonationPay is a web-based platform. When someone scans your QR code, it opens instantly in their phone’s browser. This removes the friction of remembering passwords or downloading new software.

Many older supporters are now comfortable using smartphones for banking or photos. DonationPay uses the phone's built-in Apple Pay or Google Pay, meaning they can donate securely with just their fingerprint or Face ID, without typing in long card numbers.

Still have questions?

I’m a supporter myself and I’d be happy to speak with your trustee or treasurer to explain how it works personally.

Simple Giving. No cash, no envelopes, just heart.
